Dear NUE Family,

As May comes to a close, my heart is overflowing with gratitude for the events and recognitions that have highlighted this busy month. It’s a time of reflection and immense thankfulness for the support that you, our wonderful community, have generously extended towards NUE.

Celebrating Community and Achievement

This May was particularly special as we celebrated the invaluable contributions of AAPI businesses and leaders. I’ve had the privilege of attending numerous events, where I met extraordinary individuals whose stories of innovation, perseverance, and cultural richness have greatly enriched our community.

Recognition from The Washington Post

NUE was featured in the Washington Post’s Spring 2024 Dining Guide as one of the best restaurants in DC. Being included on this prestigious list is not just an honor—it’s a moment of validation for our team’s relentless dedication. Congratulations to all of the restaurants recognized on this list! The hard work and passion we see from our peers are what make our culinary scene so dynamic and respected.

Fun at Taste of NOVA

This month also took us to the lively event, Taste of NoVA, hosted by Northern Virginia Magazine, featuring the best restaurants in the area at the National Museum of the U.S. Army. Despite a bit of rain, the spirit of joy and celebration wasn’t dampened. It was a Sunday filled with fun, fabulous food, and wonderful company. A huge thank you to everyone who came by to visit us!

A Proud Moment at CAVA

One of the most personal highlights for me this month was the opportunity to speak at CAVA’s headquarters for AAPI Heritage Month. As a fan of CAVA, it was exhilarating to engage with a team that’s not only creating delicious experiences but also building a powerful, inclusive company culture. Their hospitality and the warmth of their welcome were truly heartening.

First AAPI Heritage Month Celebration at Falls Church City Hall

It was an honor to participate in Falls Church City’s first-ever Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month celebration. Standing in City Hall, reading the proclamation, was profoundly moving. I am grateful to Mayor Letty Hardi and the City Council for their invitation and for recognizing the significant contributions of Asian and Pacific Islanders in our community. This is a new beginning for our community and I am so honored to be a part of it!

Looking Ahead to a Bright Summer

Thank you once again for believing in NUE’s mission and for making every success possible. Here’s to a summer filled with joy, community, and of course, exceptional dining.
